OPC Western Caribbean Cruise

Welcome, Join us February 5-12, 2012 for OPC's Western Caribbean Cruise on the Celebrity Solstice!

We invite members and friends of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church to share the fellowship of a relaxing cruise with fellow believers and the opportunity to increase their knowledge of “How to Study the Bible”. This trip will combine the beauty of God’s created world and the instruction in His Word of truth, and these two will be shared in the company of fellow Christians.

Speakers

Dr. George Knight is a semi-retired minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church who continues to serve both as Chairman of the denomination's Committee on Ecumenicity, and also as Chairman of the Board of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and adjunct Professor of New Testament. Dr. Knight and his wife worship at Redeemer Presbyterian Church (OPC) in Charlotte, NC, where he is the called Teacher for the church. He and his wife, Virginia, have five married children, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Dr. Richard B. Gaffin, Jr. is Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology, Emeritus, at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. He is a semi-retired minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church who serves on the denomination's Committee on Foreign Missions. He and his wife worship at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (OPC) in Ambler, PA, where he is a member of the session. He is the author of The Centrality of the Resurrection; Perspectives on Pentecost; Calvin and the Sabbath; and By Faith, Not by Sight: Paul and the Order of Salvation.

How to Study the Bible

The lectures will deal with principles for understanding the Bible with attention to using existing translations in studying the Bible.  They will also take particular passages and reflect on what should be done with the passage to understand what each is saying to us.
